John Carpenter Teases Something Related to Godzilla

John Carpenter, a legendary figure in the horror film industry, recently shared a mysterious video on Twitter through Fangoria. In the video, Carpenter appears to be seated in a cinema theater while an off-screen projector plays an unwatched picture. The film features an audible Godzilla scream and foot stomping. The filmmaker is rumored to be working on a Godzilla project, which has been welcomed with enormous excitement. This has led to widespread conjecture that the director is the director.

In addition, Fangoria has called out Shout Factory, Scream Factory, and TokuSHOUTsu on the Twitter thread that is pertinent to this discussion. Notable among these is the fact that it serves as the streaming platform for a number of well-known Japanese films and television shows, such as Godzilla, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman, amongst others. According to Comic Book Resources, this could very well mean that a screening or digital release of Gorgo vs. Godzilla, an unreleased fan film that a young John Carpenter made before he became a well-known director in Hollywood with hits including Halloween, Big Trouble in Halloween, and The Thing, will take place. Gorgo vs. Godzilla was previously unreleased.

Carpenter was described by CBR in 2003 as claiming that his early works, including the Godzilla fan film, are “devastatingly horrible” and that “no one will see those movies.” Other examples of Carpenter's early works include the Godzilla fan film. This sentence is cited by CBR.

Carpenter's final picture as a filmmaker was The Ward, which was released in 2010. It was Carpenter's last feature. More recently, he was responsible for composing the score for the movie Firestarter, which was based on a novel written by Stephen King with the same name.

In the not too distant future, Apple TV+ intends to make a series that will feature both Godzilla and Monsterverse. Godzilla vs. Kong, the untitled sequel to the picture that was released in 2021 and was directed by Adam Wingard (Blair Witch, Death Note), is slated to be released on March 15, 2024. The film was directed by Wingard.

My real name is Tom L Taylor, however, I go by Zentouro online (the origin of my name is a strange tale about an elven name generator and me being 8 years old). My concentration in Environmental Studies at Middlebury is on the role of film and media in shaping environmental perceptions and values. Both Chinese and Computer Science were electives for me.
